Hi, I'm Matt with Etrailer and today we're gonna talk about our Yakima EXO Swing Away System on our 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. Now this is gonna be a great system for you if you're looking to really max out what the Atlas can carry and you don't wanna put anything on top of your roof, 'cause it can be a little bit of a reach. Gonna be an easy way to kind of get any storage that you have on your vehicle. And if you go camping, it's gonna be a good way to kind of access it too. And like I said before, it's gonna be great for camping or if you're traveling with your family, you have all that extra storage that you need to put somewhere. You'll be able to put it either on top or the bottom and it is module so you can kind of switch these out. more

CURT Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport- Video

Now, this is gonna be a great carrier if you're looking to kind of carry any items that you don't want getting inside your vehicle, whether they be kinda dirty, bulky, or something like that. This is gonna be great for anything like mulch or concrete, things that are gonna have a lot of spillage. So it's gonna have a weight capacity of up to 500 pounds. Curt 17x46 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2022 Volkswagen Taos- Video
Hey everyone, I'm Charles with etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at the 17 by 46 Curt cargo carrier for an inch and 1/4 and 2-inch hitches on the 2022 Volkswagen Taos. All right, so this cargo carrier is made out of a heavy-duty steel construction and has a black powder coat finish, making it very durable and corrosion resistant. And this cargo carrier also fits on an inch and 1/4 and 2-inch hitches, making it great if you have multiple vehicles and something to keep in mind, if this is on an inch and 1/4 hitch, its weight capacity can support up to 300 pounds and on a 2-inch hitch, just like we have here on the Taos, it can support up to 500 pounds, but keep in mind to look at your vehicle specifications on the tongue weight capacity. All right, so the inside length is gonna measure at about 46 inches and the inside width at about 18 inches. And just for a frame of reference, we have this tote in here and we do have the raised side rails over here giving you a lot of different mounting options. Something to keep in mind about the height of the items you can carry when you have your hatch open, we'll measure at about 23 inches of height. more

Reese 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Explore cargo carrier.Now a hitch-mounted cargo carrier is going to allow us to put all of our gear on the outside of our car, freeing up all that space on the inside for a more comfortable ride. Since this is one of the larger carriers available, it's going to have no problem carrying those full-size coolers, camping equipment or even that sporting equipment. Our carrier's usable space is going to be 24" long, 60" wide, and it's going to be 5-1/2" tall, which is a great size considering oftentimes the Tiguan is more of a family car and has a lot of cargo.Now the bottom of our carrier is going to be made out of mesh, and that's not only going to help keep it lightweight, it's also going to be easy to clean. That way if you get any mud or dirt on the bottom of it, you can just hose it right off and get it shining again. If you want to be extra safe or if your cargo is very tall and blocking your tail lights, there actually is a light kit available that fits into these openings for a clean look.Now even though our carrier is more lightweight compared to many of the other ones that I've had experience with, it's still going to have a 500-pound maximum weight capacity. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Volkswagen Touareg- Video
Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Touareg we'll be having a look at the Curt 24 X 60 cargo carrier for 2-inch hitches that has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. It's part number C18152. Heres what the cargo carrier looks like on the back of our Touareg. First thing we're going to do, just get a couple of measurements here, first one being ground clearance in the back. We're about 17 and a half inches. Now we'll double check the overall length added to our vehicle. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 Cargo Carrier. That part number is CC-100, now this is designed to work with 2 inch hitches only and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Although it does have that very high weight capacity, it's very light weight so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. The first thing I'm going to do with it installed is take a few measurements. At the bottom of our bolt here we're going to have about 11 1/2 inches. Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 28 inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video

Now this works with 2" hitches only and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Although it does have that very high weight capacity, it is very lightweight. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements while it's on our vehicle. Starting off with our ground clearance, to the bottom of our carrier, we're going to have about 16 inches there. That is because we have a raised shank in the back, which is going to lift our carrier even higher than our hitch. more

Although it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is very lightweight so it's easy to put into and take out of your hitch. The first thing we're going to do while it's installed is take a few measurements. Starting off with our ground clearance we're going to have about 16-1/4". Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 27". more

Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Volkswagen Golf- Video
Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI, we're going to be taking a look at the Surco 20 by 48 Cargo Carrier for 1.25" hitches. Now you can see our cargo carrier is going to have a nice expanded metal bottom. It's going to allow our dirt and debris to fall through. It's got a nice square tube design that's going to give you multiple places to tie down your cargo. The side walls are going to be about 5.75" high. That's going to give you a nice support. more

Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video
Today on our 2015 Volkswagen GTI we're going to be doing a test fit of the Surco cargo carrier. Now this Surco cargo carrier is going to be part number 52017. As you can see, it's going to fit snugly on this 1-1/4" class one receiver that we have here today. It's going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability, as well as that sturdy steel construction with a 300 pound weight capacity. It does attach to our receiver using a hitch pin and clip. That hitch pin and clip will not be included, so if you'd like to get one you can get it on our website, part number PC2. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Volkswagen Passat- Video
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, part number C18145. Now to being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pinholes and tighten with a wrench. Now well go over some clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about 8 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the vehicle to the closet part of the carrier is about two inches and weve added about 21 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. That completes todays test fit for the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, part number C18145 on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today we have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta and well be test fitting the Curt 20 x 48 Cargo Carrier part number C18145. To mount the cargo carrier on our vehicle, well take the shank of the cargo carrier and fit it into the receiver on our hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes and then well thread our anti-rattle bolt. Well use the inch wrench to tighten it down and secure our cargo carrier. Well use a clip on the other side of the pin to make sure the pin does not back all the way out. Make sure to keep in mind the location of the vehicle exhaust when loading the cargo carrier. more
